“do not rent here”

I have rented here for 4 months a few things potential tenants should know:

1) The rent posted on the internet is not accurate - it is on the 'base' rent. From that rent, water, sewage, trash, pest control and pet rent is added on so you'll wind up paying at least another $100 more than expected. After you add in non refundable deposits, it's closer to $200 more per month that what's listed on the internet.

2) The property is NOT secure. The security gates have not been closed since I live here, it's not a great area and all sorts of people wander through so there is a lot of petty crime.

3) It's very noisy. There are a lot of nice people, but a lot of very sketchy tenants who are incredibly disrespectful of neighbors. A visitor for one of my neighbors leaves his car unattended blasting music in the middle of the night. Ask him to turn it down and he threatens to kill you.

4) Management is unresponsive. They answer emails, but don't fix the problems. They don't properly vet tenants - i.e. do criminal background checks - even though they charge new tenants for it. You never know what is next door and the response is 'crime has no address' or 'we can't control our tenants.' Really? I've been a landlord myself for 25 years. My tenants abide by the lease or they're evicted. They can't keep or attract tenants so they allow anyone to move in here and stay here.

Be forewarned.

On the plus side, it's extremely pet friendly.

“Very upset with bugs”

Just moved in, looked great when I saw it. After two days of living there I find my apartment is infested with roaches and have come to find that others tenants have complained and are not satisfied with actions taken. The garbage cans kept on the side if each bldg are disgusting. When I complained they said they would send an exterminator to my apartment only when what is needed is for the entire bldg to be treated. So far I am incredibly upset and disappointed
