The Westheimer
2001 Westheimer Rd, Houston, 77098, TX
The Westheimer is conveniently located between River Oaks and Montrose. It's chic exterior appearance is moderated by apartments that are nice and offer basic amenities. Pros include: The complex has a couple of notable aspects. While the appliances are not top of the line new, the refrigerators have a stainless steel exterior. In addition, each apartment unit will include an outdoor storage unit on the balcony. On the down side, the complex does not offer many upgrades at this time. Tips: When selecting an apartment, note that stained concrete floors are in the living room and kitchen areas for all apartments on the second floor. For apartments on floors 3-5, it is engineered hardwood.
The Westheimer is near the corner of Westheimer and Shepherd Street, next door to a shopping plaza which includes Randall's grocery store, Hallmark Gift Shop, and other dining and shopping options. It's prime location provides residents easy access to many areas of town and Houston's 59 highway.

The apartments in this building are actually nice. It's an older building that is currently going through a lot of upgrades. I've lived here for two years and did not have any major complaints except the fact that they never really did anything about security. Letters about stolen bicycles and broken-in cars are just too frequent for my taste. Well, all of this changed today. I am moving out and had the walk-through with the complex manager. WOW! Was I shocked at the things they want to charge you for. Before I start, let me explain that I am a single female in my late thirties. I am a clean freak!!! But I guess not for their standards. The building manager started by looking at the oven and said, well this will be $20 dollars to remove everything--mind you, this is after I cleaned the oven myself, had the self-clean on, and had a cleaning lady come in to do a thorough cleaning of the whole apartment. Then he went to the bathroom and said they would have to charge me for the bath tub--that has never been used by the way because I only used the shower. Nevertheless, I did regularly clean the un-used tub. He further went to the bedroom and lifted the carpet. It had some stains underneath--which I had no idea what they were from--and said that they would have to charge me for the carpet. Considering that I lived there for two years, he said I was probably looking at $300. Then, he pointed to the walls and said they would charge me for all the holes where I had the pictures hung.
