Goods: Its' close to memorial park, easy to get to downtown, pretty good traffic patterns. Empty, unused grounds in the back are nice to walk around in. Bads: 3 weeks after moving in, my motorcycle was stolen! I asked the manager to show me the security footage in an effort to identify the criminal. She said there are NO CAMERAS, anywhere. And, I quote, "we are not going to get any". This comes after 2 different leasing agents told me I had to leave my motorcycle, unguarded, on the top floor of the parking garage. After it was stolen, the manager said I could have left it downstairs near my front door. WHAT! Now, they post guards for us to see during the times we come back from work. Then, sometime during the evening, most of them leave. Don't even get me started about the miswired switches in my apartment, squeaky doors, broken hot tub, broken elevator....

“On-Site Management Staff is substandard”

I have lived at the Left Bank for two years and will not be renewing my lease this upcoming year. Since my time at the complex there are been multiple issues including the following: (1) For the past two years there have been issues with mail delivery and UPS deliveries. I personally have complained to the on-site management staff three times. They have not offered any solutions. In my opinion, if there is a problem happening on your property you should take steps to fix the problem, not offer excuses. Especially if you are billing an apartment complex as "luxury". (2) The electronic gate code is continuously out of order as well as half of the treadmills in the workout room. Once again the management staff fails to fix something completely within their control. (3) As mentioned in other complaints this complex is not up to fire code. One time the fire alarm went off after the management office had closed. The only pedestrian gate out of the entire complex was bike locked shut by the management staff. That meant the only exit out of the entire complex was through the electronic garage gate. Some of these issues could be overlooked if the management staff were able to exhibit that they were attempting to address the issues. However, every single interaction I have had with every staff member has been sub-par. The rudeness exhibited by the management staff, on several occasions by several different staff members, illustrates a problem with this site's management culture.

“Fire trap”

It could be a lovely apartment complex were it not for one HUGE flaw: the entire building is out of fire code. Last time we had a fire alarm go off, the fire doors blocked into place and everyone was trapped in their apartments. We've complained about this to the manager at least a dozen times in the last 3 months, and nothing has been done. Other tenants also tell me that they have complained. If there is an actual fire in this building (and not a burned dinner like last time), people will die in this building. I am not being hyperbolic: the building as designed literally traps people in the building when there is a fire. We are looking to move.

Were it not for this one big issue, this would be a dream apartment. The location is great, the staff is friendly, and the amenities are high-quality and well-maintained. If they fix the fire doors, I would eagerly recommend it. Be sure to check before moving in.

Hermann Park
Great part of town - fairly new, moderately priced apartments which are close to 288 (easy to get into town) and next to Hermann Park (great for a walk/run). I lived here for a year and highly recommend the area.
If you had a different apartment in mind, not to worry. We can still help your search for Houston apartments since we have tons of places to choose from.
