We sent a former property manager to investigate

Two-story, dark tan stucco buildings. Complex is very "vanilla," in relatively good shape but located off of busy Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd and directly under a huge set of unsightly high-voltage power lines. Units are small, but have been nicely renovated to include faux-wood hardwood floors and other upgraded features. Pros include: Property has newly renovated community center with monthly events for residents and a billiards room. Units have a good use of storage space. On the down side, property sits directly under unsightly, huge power-line towers. Even though renovated, complex and units have a dated feel to them. Units are small in size. Tips: Some 2nd floor units have vaulted ceilings. They often run some sort of move-in special.

On FLW Blvd between Shea Blvd and Cacuts Road. It is within walking distance to two grocery store shopping centers, a community park and the McDowell Mountain preserve. It is just a few miles from the Loop 101 freeway.

“Terrible, terrible, terrible!!!”

First and foremost, I wish I could give this place ZERO or NEGATIVE stars. One star is too much. Now I don't know who is writing all these positive reviews, but it sounds to me like it has to be the rental office/property management/complex owners. We moved in here in September. I don't know where to begin to describe what we thought would be a nice place to live. Right from day one of moving in the place was a mess- the cabinets and drawers were dirty and and had not been cleaned and were filled with crap from the previous tenants that we had to clean out. The A/C unit leaked water on the floor daily, and calls to maintenance were answered by the woefully incompetent staff, meaning it took them over a month and a half to finally fix the problem after numerous calls and emails to the office. Then there's the heat, or rather lack of heat, problem. It has NEVER worked properly. The only place the heat worked decently was in the living room. Both bedrooms and bathrooms never got any heat and were so cold, especially considering how cold this winter was, that we actually moved the beds into the living room and bought space heaters. After the incompetent maintenance staff came over numerous times to attempt to fix the heat problem, a maintenance guy from another complex Tipton Group managed was here and stopped by and said the problem was the heat/AC units are so old, the original units, they need to be replaced. Then there's the mold issue. Definitely not worth the $985 we paid.

“Do not rent here”

When I first rented here, it advertised as a 'luxurious apartment'. It was decently priced for being in that category, and on first inspection seemed appropriate. Upon closer inspection, everything in the apartment is cheap. From the light switches to the flooring, all cheap. Move forward a few months to when the he starts hitting over 100, AC dies. It took them 2 weeks to finally get this fixed. I was done, paid my rent on time never asked for anything from the front desk. Move out day: I moved out on time, cleaned, got everything done to a satisfactory level. I get a bill in the mail, have to pay $131.00 for cleaning and such. That's fine, I can live with that. A few days later, I get an email, they messed up, I actually owe over 600 dollars for painting. I did not smoke in the apartment, didn't hang anything on the walls, didn't use the fire place. There is no way I should have been charged 600 dollars. DO NOT RENT HERE.

“Missing Broadstone”

The Tipton Group has taken over this Ancala property and no one here is happy about it. One of the maintenance guys yelled at my boyfriend thinking he was from another unit that supposedly "calls him at all hours of the night". Then upon realizing that my boyfriend was not from that unit the guy just was all "oh wrong unit", no apology!! The group in the lobby never seem to know what they are doing and are rude. We pay our rent online and there was a glitch in the system that made the site say we paid when it never pulled the funds. We got a 5 day notice letter saying that we never paid and that we owed all these fees. When we brought the issue to the office they told us the manager would call us by the end of the day to solve the problem. She NEVER called. My boyfriend instead had to be late to work the next day and wait around for them to solve it in person. No apology! In fact the manager never even came out of her office in the back to talk to him. The receptionist had to go back there explain the situation then come back up and tell him what she said to do. Terrible Customer service! If you still want to live here I hope you have a gym membership somewhere else because Elevate's gym has been closed for months with zero progress.

“Elevate @Ancala”

This place is going down hill. Electrical code violations at pool. Hot tub has not worked in two years. Garbage not picked up on regular basis. Workout room has been closed three months.Rats and cockroaches a coon complaint. Manager does nothing when a complaint is filed. Repairs requested are ignored.Used to be a nice place. Don't rent here .

“I would give it zero stars if I could”

I've been living in this apartment complex for 2 years. We have changed management like 5 times. It got worse with each change, but the latest management company (Tipton Group) is the worst. There is dog poop everywhere, maintenance takes forever to complete requests and when they do, they leave a mess. They have been renovating the gym and community center forever and there is no progress. Management issues 5 days notices left and right even when you have paid your rent on time because there is a glitch in the system but they never apologize and are rude about it. There are roach infestations in several building because the buildings are old. You can try to contact the property manager but it will take forever for her to actually pay attention to you. I miss Broadstone and its friendly staff and efficient maintenance team. What a shame.

“Not What It Was...”

"Elevate" is terrible. They don't take care of the grounds, or finish any projects. There has been soggy, refrigerator sized, cardboard boxes laying on the landscaping for two days now, that were left by maintenance. Sidewalk lights hanging from their wires and rocks all over the sidewalks because the new maintenance guys drive their golf-cart (That doesn't fit) on the sidewalks and run in to the posts. There is trash, dog poop, and countless unfinished projects everywhere. The gym and clubhouse have been being remodeled for months (was supposed to be weeks), but there has been no progress besides putting plastic on all the machines. They just put new signs up with further completion dates when the old one expires.

I miss "Broadstone" and their crew. Every morning you would see the maintenance guys doing their rounds making sure the place looked good. The office used to be friendly, and you could go in for anything.

Everyone that has been here 6 months or longer, talk about how good we had it and how sad it is now.
