RentLingo Editor's Review
We sent a former property manager to investigate

This apartment complex looks a little worn on the outside, but the interiors are quite nice and mostly renovated. The community is quiet and small and has a charming feel, but also requires having a car, since it’s not walkable to anything. Pros include: Much of the interior and amenities are newly renovated. The entire community is gated—so that adds extra security. All units come with a balcony/patio which some residents use as extra storage. On the down side, the outside of the apartments look a little worn. Some of the units don’t come with stainless steel appliances. Not a particularly convenient location (you’ll need a car to get around). Watch out: All 2BR units have washer/dryer. There are only a few 1BR units with washer dryer. If you don’t have a washer/dryer, laundry rooms might be a little far from your unit. Several patios and balconies are dirty and many are used as storage which can be an eye sore.

“Move here if you don't care about your personal belongings or sleep. ”

Not a safe place to live... Neighbors are inconsiderate. People around this community will damage other people's vehicles without any remorse. Within 6 months of living here I witness people's car door mirror get broken off and thrown to the side of the street at least two times! My own car was damaged as well! Someone hit the side of my car damaging my left driver side!

Also the parents here let their children bother neighbors. Apparently kids here love to play a game called "Ding-Dong Ditch". A game in which kids will go to someone's apartment knock on the door and run off. Also, late in the night, the kids here open their windows and begin to scream and laugh as loud as they can.

The reason I gave two stars is because the apartment management sent an e-mail to all their tenants begging parents to control their kids. Their futile attempt deserves at least one star for effort.

However, the rent here is way too expensive. The community is bad and the apartments harvest infestation of various different bugs. (One day I found a swarm of FLYING ANTS in my kitchen, a month later I find tons of worms on my patio, about four months into my least I find silverfish coming through between the cracks of my bathroom wall and floor!!!)

“Management change takes Sage from bad to worse”

AVOID! There is better value

Sage is a "gated" community,

- Often gates do not work

- Resident got robbed at gun point by my window.

- Vehicle was stolen right in front of the property (driver was assaulted)

- Someone was stabbed half a block away

- Not your typical Cupertino neighborhood - look up

- Trespassers common; random people knocking at your door at 9:30pm

+ Community comes together on IM to warn others

- People have tried to snatch/ steal bicycles from kids

- Police called on multiple occasions to investigate loitering

- Reckless residents smoke by the trash area and have set off fires at least twice.

Firetrucks by your window at 3am - not fun

- Management responded to serious incidents by engaging security patrol for a week; the patrol was nowhere to be seen after

- Promises to install cameras never honored

- Always temp staff at leasing office; cannot answer basic questions

- Community managers never around

- On rare occasion they manage to meet the community managers, people have been met with exceptional rudeness

- Slew of "executive orders" without regard to lease terms

+ Good for recent expatriates from Asia/ South Asia

+ Strong sense of community; people look out for each other

+ Kids are well behaved,

- except for the noise levels

+ Small gym; functional

+ Refrigerator: good

+ Hob, oven and hood: very good

- Apartments small - compare $ psf

- MOLD; will get tired cleaning

- Don't be swayed by model apartment

+ Location
