We sent a former property manager to investigate

Post Midtown Square is centrally located complex divided in to 7 buildings and 2 phases. The phases include the traditional (older construction) and the modern phase which is fairly new construction. The apartments (traditional phase) are set above local retail shops and share common sidewalks and street parking. The traditional phase buildings are showing signs of aging: the awnings are worn, the paint color is dated, and pool furniture is cheap looking. The interior courtyards have almost no grassy areas and the trees and greenery are not well manicured making the overall feel more like a motel and less like a home. The modern phase is in great condition but again limited in grassy areas. The only outdoor lounge for that phase is relatively small but has a few BBQ grills. The community is branded as luxury living but that can only apply to the modern phase because the traditional units have outdated white appliances, low quality countertops and cabinetry with only carpet throughout. While the modern phase has maple cabinets, granite countertops, designer backsplashes and partial stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, with oversized tubs in all floor plans. Pros include: Walkin... read more

About The Location
We sent a former property manager to investigate

The entrance to the property is right on W. Gray, a very busy, high traffic street. The community is surrounded by mostly restaurants, other apartments and some abandoned commercial buildings and houses. It is in the busiest section of Midtown where the Arts and Montrose neighborhoods overlap. It's only a few minutes from Downtown and the Museum District.

If I could give this place less than one star, I would. Over the course of my less than one year living there my track lighting broke FOUR times, my "brand new" washing machine broke and took over a week to be replaced, my oven locked itself shut TWICE, my water got shut off with no warning THREE times, and multiple other issues like noise and trash in common areas for over a week at a time even after I reported it, went ignored by the management staff. They will not respond to emails or phone calls even one second after office hours and sometimes take 3-7 days to simply return an email. They simply act as if they don't care about maintaining their portion of the lease agreement which includes their responsibility to provide working appliances and clean, quiet common areas. They let dogs defecate and urinate in the hallways and take 2-3 days to clean it up sometimes. I once told them about a pizza box and loose slice of pizza in one of the stairwells and it took them 7 days to clean it up. Let the rats come, why not, management doesn't live there, not their problem, right? This is not an inexpensive apartment complex to buy into, so do not throw away your money like I did! They remind me of slumlords! Don't do it! They even let me out of my lease early which was basically an admission of guilt about how bad they are when it comes to apartment management. I've lived in ten or so different apartment communities across America and this is by far, by far, THE WORST.

“Cockroach infested”

I'm buying a townhouse and terrified that I will be taking the cockroaches with me. Post Midtown square is infested with roaches and it's embarrassing to live here. This standard of living is unacceptable. However management deems my infestation suitable for their apartments.

Understand that these commercial buildings are attached to Resturants and over apartments. It is impossible to treat. I've had multiple visits from Terminex where they treat roach feed and poison inside the cabinets where I keep my dishes and food.

I've found roaches in my bed, dish washer, shower, inside the fridge, all cabinets, sinks and walls. There was no concessions or reimbursements for the full time I was stressed out living here. I do not wear shoes in my apartment and I keep it very clean. However, everyday I would come home finding cockroaches running and hiding. Their feces and body parts all over the floor and counter. Disgusting.

Hermann Park
Great part of town - fairly new, moderately priced apartments which are close to 288 (easy to get into town) and next to Hermann Park (great for a walk/run). I lived here for a year and highly recommend the area.
