RentLingo Editor's Review
We sent a former property manager to investigate

The Plantation apartment complex is an older complex located in the Galleria area. It's location is its best feature. The exterior and interior of the complex is not well maintained and there are virtually no apartment amenities available to residents. Pros include: The neighborhood of the complex is set off from the street making the community of the apartment very quiet. There are 3 pools on the property, although they are not well maintained or very large. On the down side, the Plantation complex is older and worn. The interiors of the apartment include older appliances and carpet. There is limited living space and has a small kitchen area and small closets. The apartments do not include a washer and dryer nor hook-ups but there is a laundry room on site.

“Worst service ever ”

Location is great and the apartments are clean from inside. Service is the worst that you can get and the administration is so rude as well. They don't negociate and the facalities is too old. Washers and dryers are not working the whole time. The air condition is fake and you won't be able to get it cooling in warm summer and it is too cold when temperature decrease in winter. You do not have any control over it and that is not clear in the contract. So be careful. The area is not safe and crimes happen frequently. The admin do not want to being security and they really do not care. When something happen they will tell you sorry but don't expect that someone is going to compensate you for your lose. For the peace of mind stay away.

“Love this Place”

I've been at Plantation for 6 months and I love it. Nothing beats the location. You can literally cross the street and be at the Galleria, and both 610 & 59 are easily accessible. You're not going to be able to find a better deal in this area.

As far as the property itself, I don't really have any complaints. It's an older property, but it is well taken care of. I love the courtyard-style layout. I haven't had a single problem with any of my neighbors. When you live underneath and on top of other people, expect a little noise, but these apartments were built rock-solid so excessive noise isn't a problem. I have had zero maintenance issues to date. I see a lot of people complaining about the AC being broken. Well, the property uses an old boiler/chiller system, which essentially means that the entire property either has AC or heat. I put in a window unit and haven't had a problem with the apartment being too hot, even when it's 90+ degrees outside. The leasing agent informed me of this before I signed, so it wasn't a surprise. Bugs haven't been a major issue. I think I've found two (a millipede and a moth) since I moved in. NO ROACHES. Richdale will pay to exterminate your apartment if you have any bug problems whatsoever. I've never had an issue finding a parking spot. And did I mention electricity is included? You can't beat this place!

“Worst Apartment Complex EVER!!!”

Pros: Location, Price, Unique floor plans

Cons: Terrible Customer Service, extra bill charges that they refuse to refund, ROACHES, WORMS, LIZARDS, FROGS (all find there way into your apartments), walls are paper thin, and the grounds look disgusting (its shameful to even tell people where I live). The neighbors are also loud and families hog the pools, so there is no where to relax.
