Newport on the Lake is a stunning property with a beachside ambiance that was built in 2008. The exteriors have white stone, white trim and the different colored siding – some are sea blue-green, some are light gray, some are beige and some are moss green. Lots of interior and exterior details make it feel like beach houses. Pros include: The staff is friendly and clearly proud of the property. A CARES team organizes resident events and helps make residents feel welcome. Access is controlled by a gate system and a free remote for the gates and amenities is provided. The leasing center houses a well-equipped fitness room with free weights. During office hours, residents can use free computers in the business center and print or fax as needed. Behind the leasing office is a wonderful pool with a separate hot tub and gas grills plus cabana style seating and loungers. On the grounds, are more grilling areas and a putting green. The truly wonderful amenity is the fifteen acre lake with a private dock with paddle boats and kayaks for residents to use, some with a fee. Scenic seating areas look out over the lake. Granite counter tops in the kitchen and the bathrooms are standard. Door pulls and Maple stained wood cabinetry adds richness. Nice details like built in desks, bookshelves and art nooks make the apartment feel unique. The carpeting is upgraded for a more elegant feeling and first floor units have wood plank flooring. Each unit has a patio/balcony. Full size washer and dryers are provided. High ceilings, garden tubs, entertainment centers and ceiling fans are great perks. On the down side, there are not many negative issues with this property, but it can be hard to see the front entrance from the road because of the strip center. Covered parking is not available unless the unit has a garage included and not all units have garages. Reserved parking is not available; it is all first come, first served. Tips: First floor units have wood plank flooring. Second and third floor units are mostly carpet.
