RentLingo Editor's Review
We sent a former property manager to investigate

The Monarch Medical Center is a well maintained, 250-unit, red brick complex built around an attractive courtyard with a designer swimming pool. Pros include: Despite the character of the neighborhood, the complex is quiet, and the owners are upgrading units with vinyl wood laminate floors, stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. Washer/dryers are available in most units. Some units offer extra storage. The gym is open 24/7. On the down side, the units are small, and not all units have been upgraded. Washer/dryers are not available in small one-bedroom units, but there is a laundry facility at the property. The laminate wood floor upgrade only applies to first floor units. Tips: All parking is covered and on a first come, first served basis for residents only. There is no reserved parking. . Watch out: Some units are not on the central courtyard overlooking the pool; the rent for courtyard units is slightly higher.

“Avoid this complex!”

It's so simple: try other complexes in this neighborhood, not this one! They have the most unprofessional staff ever. I paid the damn fees TWO damn years ago and when I was moving out, they couldn't find any damn records in their stupid system and easily refused to give back my deposit money. They just know how to change their stupid system or their staff, not to improve their service. Those people in the leasing office even don't know how to talk to the residents. Totally dissatisfied! Out of the blue, they raise the rents and don't care about you. Avoid this complex!

“Monarch Medical Center”

I just have to say that they do not rent apartments that are not upgraded. When someone moves out, that apartment gets renovated. That was perfect for me because I could lease the apartment I wanted but they are able to hold it longer. So accommodating!

Great part of town - fairly new, moderately priced apartments which are close to 288 (easy to get into town) and next to Hermann Park (great for a walk/run). I lived here for a year and highly recommend the area.
