“Regret it”

I seriously regret moving here and can not wait to leave.

We were told when we moved in that the building still needed a few "finishing touches, like painting." What we weren't told is that "finishing touches" included four months of heavy construction noise every week day starting sometimes as early as 6:15 am. I feel so lied to.

Additionally, the initial optimism that came with signing a lease in such a nice looking community quickly eroded as it became clear that absolutely everything was done cheaply.

The washing machine destroys clothes while the dryer imparts unto them a distinct dead animal smell. The bathroom faucet is angled such that it sprays water onto the counter. The bathroom walls are unfinished, leaving a small gap between the wall and the floor, which didn't seem like a big deal until my wife and I came home to find hundreds and hundreds of ants pouring through that small gap and infesting our apartment. Management told us that pest control comes once a week, so we were asked to wait several days before anything could be done about the ant problem. As a result, every time we have had a bug problem (which was several times during the warmer months) we dealt with it ourselves at our own expense (despite paying a monthly pest control fee).

The walls are thin enough that I can hear both the constant music that plays by the pool and my neighbors conversations.

The list of problems goes on, but all of these issues are compounded by the exorbitant cost. The util

Great location for Stanford/PA
Bikeable to Stanford and walkable to downtown Palo Alto. Downtown Menlo is a sleepier neighborhood but they have a TJ's, a nice farmer's market, and a couple of nice restaurants. Lots of grad students and young families here!

Menlo Park/Stanford
Fantastic area, close to parks and easy bike to Stanford. 15min walk to Menlo Park. Caltrain about 20min walk, but not the best at night given lack of sidewalks or shoulder

Nice place to live near Stanford
Lived here for two years while going to graduate school at Stanford. Easy bike ride to campus on the bike path. Very close to downtown Menlo Park retail/restaurants. Quieter than downtown Palo Alto. Would have preferred living walking distance to downtown Palo Alto, but better value in here. This is a nice neighborhood in Menlo Park, but not the nicest neighborhood.

"Giant, gorgeous house randomly in this neighborhood of otherwise small homes. Not too much around by way of amenities but I loved living in this house regardless. Lots of garage sales in RWC to pick up furniture on the cheap! Rent was extremely affordable, and there's a Whole Foods at Jefferson and El Camino. Not too fancy a neighborhood generally, a bit of a hike to Stanford (20+ minutes by car, given traffic)."

Great place for young adults with cars who like to bike!
Great amenities on Woodside Road (supermarkets, very cheap gas prices, bank, post office, even a Michaels -- you name it!) Beautiful outdoors access for bike rides from your front door over into Woodside Right by 280 entrance for quick zipping up to the city or elsewhere Pretty neighborhoods as you head over into Atherton. It was a 26 minute bike ride from my doorstep to the GSB at Stanford, loved every minute of it! Rent is cheaper than nearby towns of Atherton and Menlo Park, though since I lived right on the border it still felt like a nice neighborhood Bad -- traffic on Alameda in the mornings is HORRENDOUS for driving towards Stanford. It's not *that* close to Stanford. You definitely need a car.

Great brand new building! More space and amenities than most options in nearby Menlo or Palo Alto. Conveniently located right across the street from super market and easy access to el camino and Hwy 101.

Reasonable price, great location
Very conveniently located to Stanford, DT Menlo Park, DT PA, and the caltrain. Also, more reasonably priced than DT PA. The house is a downgrade in quality from where we're most recently lived, but the backyard is a nice addition.

Love Menlo Park
I love our new apartment! Its spacious, dog-friendly, has a dishwasher, and a small storage unit. There are a couple of reasons why its wonderful. First, because there is a dog-friendly park nearby with a great playground for kids and families. There are also tennis and softball fields for the public to enjoy at their leisure. Another thing I love is that is within walking distance of the Safeway, Peets Coffee and other smaller stores. This makes last minute grocery shopping a breeze. I would highly recommend this area for singles, newly married couples and young families.

Nice spot to be!
Living in this area has several advantages: you are close to Chavez, a very good supermarket that also has a food place that makes the best tacos ever. If you like to run, just across the street you can enter in a very wealthy neighborhood in Atherton, where you can run around some incredible mansions. It is a 10 minute drive to campus (Stanford), 10 minute walk to the Caltrain station and very close to the 101 freeway

Fine area - just pricey
I lived in the 725 Roble apartment buildings. They were *fine* -- management was easy to work with, property was exactly what we needed and nothing more. But the prices in Menlo have just gone through the roof lately. The area is itself is convenient, though. My partner biked to Stanford (~15 minute bike), and I either drove to work or walked to the Menlo Park Caltrain (~10 minute walk, and it gets *most* but not all trains). The Menlo Park downtown area is more cute than functional. Most things close about 9 pm, and there isn't a good bar location. Though the Safeway is close, nice, and open 24 hours.
