“Don't Move Here”

If you are interested in a genuine review, excuse the length and bear with me. I moved into Dayton Crossing on Dec. 8th 2015. and I have to say that my overall experience here has been an awful one. We moved in to a "newly renovated" apartment that came with features such as a broken dryer (for almost 12 weeks), a broken dishwasher (about a month), a broken exhaust fan in the bathroom (a code violation that never got fixed) and 3 broken light bulbs. I had to go to the office in person at least a dozen times for my dryer because no one ever came to fix it and no one in the office ever returned my calls. A couple months after moving in, my toilet started leaking water and when I called maintenence they categorized it as an emergency and I was told someone would be out before the end of the day. 48hrs later, no one had shown and I still could not use my toilet. I finally decided to investigate the issue myself and replaced the leaking hose on my own dime. No one from the office ever did return my 3 voicemails. What's more, is that every time I go to the leasing office half of the staff is new again. The turn over rate means that you never talk to the same person about a problem twice so they always claim to have no knowledge of the issue!

There also seems to be a large amount of favoritism for Woodstream Village residents over the Dayton Crossing residents. Dayton's ONLY pool did not open until mid August due to "repairs that need to be made" and then promptly closed the second week of September; Woodstream had TWO working pools all summer, including the indoor one which they have all year. The exterior doors on my Dayton building have been some level of broken the entire 13 months I've lived here; Woodstream got all new door locks and upgrades more than 6 months ago. I see maintenance staff in and out of apartments around Woodstream every day; my roommate had to call for 3 weeks before her shower was fixed. It is just ridiculous.

I have never had a late payment, nor have I had any noise complaints made against me. As a Tennant I have done my job. I expect that when moving into a "luxury apartment building" the staff will do their job and I will at least have a home in working order. But no. Nobody takes responsibility for problems, it is always someone else's issue or fault and it is exhausting. I would not recommend that my worst enemy move here, and I mean that wholeheartedly. The apartments are a good size, and they are affordable. Those are the only two redeeming qualities this complex has going for it.

Needless to say I am excited that my lease is up in a week. You couldn't pay me to stay here any longer than I've already endured.

Nice quiet family neighborhood
Southmoor Park Elementary is the neighborhood school. The neighborhood is full of families, quiet, with nicely manicured lawns and friendly people. Great place to raise a family.
