“Everything Other Reviewer Said is True...and Worse”

They can sell floor space costs and convenient location until the cows come home...but this place has become a haven, again, for drug users and desperate people evacuating other countries. They put up with these conditions because it is only worse in a foreign refugee camp. If you want to live in a refugee camp...then come live here...and don't walk after dark or you'll step in the flooding sewage water that flows regularly onto the streets, next to the dog poo residents don't clean up. Too bad I can't give it a negative star rating.

DON'T BELIEVE THE GOOD REVIEWS!!! It's probably from an employee or friend. THESE ARE THE SAME APARTMENTS THAT WERE SPANISH TRACE WITH A 14% RATING!!! When I moved there, it was Spanish Trace, then Rayo del Sol, then Escondido Village. Same apartments, same horrible place. I lived there for over 7 years (just moved out at the end of 2014) and trust me, this place is a hell hole!!!! The first apartment I lived in there, I was in for about 5 years and complained about a leak in the living room ceiling for almost the entire 5 years. They'd come and paint the ceiling and tell me that they fixed the leak. Then when it'd rain again, it'd leak again and they'd paint again. Then one day, about half of the living room ceiling came crashing down, exposing horrible black mold (even the insulation was black with mold). I had it tested and it was a bad type of mold. They set me up in an apartment across the parking lot and miraculously, our respiratory issues resolved almost instantly!!! Upon move-in, it was apparent that the apartment wasn't cleaned before we moved in (things left in cabinets, etc.) but we needed a place to stay so we dealt with it. Dishwasher and front burner on the stove never worked the entire 2 years I lived in the new apartment even though I requested service. Found open bags of food inside the cabinet drawers. Loud music all times of the night, fighting, scumbags and tagging are rampant. I called the police and security on a regular basis for loud music and people fighting (one time there were guns drawn) and even went to the manager and was told that they could do nothing to the tenants causing the ruckus. Police investigations at the apartments are a regular occurrence and also saw numerous armed probation officers looking for parolees. Also, homeless people hang out at the apartments as well. Sewer constantly backed up behind building 7 and other places in the complex and they don't even wash the area down or clean up after it drained. They just leave the nastiness (toilet paper and other funk) to dry on the ground so as soon as it gets wet, the stink returns. Garbage disposal was out for months before I moved out and they never came to fix it. Took 3 months to get my bathroom sink fixed; hot and cold water were running constantly. I was able to turn the cold water off under the sink, but couldn't get the hot water to turn off because the valve was stuck (and this was after the new owners and management company took over). After doing several maintenance requests in addition to calling to complain that it hadn't been fixed yet over a period of a few months, I finally got them to fix it after I went into the office with a video of the hot water running and screamed like a banshee in front of prospective tenants. They had 4 or 5 maintenance guys at my apartment in under 30 minutes. But it's nuts and totally unacceptable that I had to lose my mind to get something as important as that fixed, but that's the ONLY way to get them to do anything. Also, multiple times a year (especially in the heat of the summer) the electricity will go out for 24-72 hours. This happened the entire time I lived there and you can check the SA news archives online, because there are articles about the power outages there. One article, in particular, was about the electricity being out for an ENTIRE weekend (Friday morning through Monday evening) in 104 degree heat. The gates are ALWAYS broken even though they advertise themselves as being gated. In fact, when I moved out, one of the gates was broken in half and had been that way for over a year. Oh, and the roaches...OMG!!! The entire complex is infested and they never came out to spray (not even once) the entire 7 years I lived there, though they charged me every month for pest control and I asked them numerous times to send someone out to spray. I fogged the apartment, put out poison, sprayed, but nothing worked. It was absolutely disgusting!!! I was absolutely stupid to stay there for as long as I did. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR...RUN FOR THE HILLS AND DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO LOOK AT THIS TRASHY PLACE!!! I wish someone had warned me!
