RentLingo Editor's Review
We sent a former property manager to investigate

Overall, the Solara has a quiet, comfortable feel, but lacks truly outstanding amenities, units or other defining qualities. They have recently updated their units, but they still feel dated, as do the exteriors of the buildings. Pros include: The best parts of Solara are found in the unit floor plans. The master bedrooms are very large by apartment standards and the walk in closet is so big it could be used as a nursery. The rest of the floor plan is very well laid out and the bathroom is surprisingly roomy. On the down side, the fact that parking is on a first come first serve basis can create an inconvenience. The property feels somewhat dated.

“Awful place”

Please do not sign a lease here.

Sorry this is long, but my major reasons based upon my experiences are listed here. When I moved in July 2014, my apartment was infested with cockroaches. I had to wait three days to get the apartment bombed and still spent months getting rid of the roaches myself. Also my neighbor was (from what I was told by my roommate talked to the neighbor) a recovering meth addict. He would cry and scream all night. This occurred many times. The police were called by other neighbors a couple times. My roommate and I transferred to a different apartment within the complex after 6 months of living there. We paid $300 to transfer plus $120 in move out fees. We were told we would receive our deposit back by mail but never got it.

I moved out in December. Got a bill for move out for about $200, including a pet urine cleaning fee. I did not have any pets. While disputing this, the bill was sent to collections and raised to $294. Several calls later, they took off $120 for the pet urine. Then the rest was paid and found out that the first month without utilities is just pushed back, so your deposit that you don't get back goes to back utilities. The people in the office were not helpful with this or any other issues throughout my time here.

If you have to live here, know that you'll be losing money and go to the spotless laundromat on the north side of the complex instead of the complex's. You will save money and not have to deal with the laundry card machine that rarely works. By the way, the complex is gated. But there is no code, just pull up to the gate and it opens. (If it even closed. They are broken quite frequently.)

If you didn't read this all and skipped to the bottom: DO NOT LIVE HERE

“Horrible ”

Water is constantly being shut off. rent is way to high for what the place is worth. apts are super outdated and rent keeps going up without any updates. Windows rattle whenever you open your front door and let air in. Management cuts corners on the maintenance of apts and don't care about their residences. I wish I would have known all of these things before signing my lease.
