“Stay Away”

Do not live here, do not even try to apply here.

I recently submitted an application to lease at Prairie Shores only to find out that I was mislead at every opportunity; fees were glossed over, hidden charges were added, fees that were stated to be refundable were refused to be returned, and income requirements changed every time I spoke to a leasing agent. Numerous phone calls were never returned and after all the miscommunication, I was blamed for the lies and deceit. I ended up losing over 400 dollars after being strung along and eventually bullied for weeks.

I ignored all the negative reviews about Prairie Shores feeling that it was normal for there to be some bad complaints about a large complex, however I have never been treated with such disrespect and blatant manipulation. This is not a place anyone should live, unless you want to be treated like you mean nothing.

If you still choose to apply here, make sure that you get everything in writing to ensure that they cannot go back on their word. Our mistake was believing that they would honor their word without it being expressly written, which they 100 percent will not do.

“I gave 0 star if I can”

Stay away from this place if you can. Their customer service is the worst I have ever met. Except slow maintenance and rude customer service, they drain your time and patience.

My friend intends to sublease my unit, and I wrote a check for him during his application since he did not bring one. He would pay me back. Later, the receptionist of the leasing office informed me that he got rejected and I should have my check back. So I got it back and asked my friend not to pay me. However, Robert from the management office disagreed, and mailed to ask me for sublet money repeatedly. I dropped by their office to ask what is going on. Instead of letting me know what I need to do, Robert and the receptionist talked privately and then asked me to ask no more (rudely) and said that they will contact the applicant for the money. Today, this charge is still in my account, and they now unitedly determined to charge ME (not the applicant).

They make their residents be responsible for their fault, and in the mean time treat residents badly. If you have seen good reviews for this place, be careful. They smile before you sign the lease, but not anymore afterwards.

Great location
Convenient to lots of ammenities near by. Great for hosting guests given proximity to Michigan Avenue. Condos @ 405 N Wabash are a little dated in general but offers great views. Also convenient groceries and good options in the building.
