“love my downtown home”

I live on the 22nd floor and the views are phenomenal. The 24hr concierge is great, coffee in the mornings and popcorn in the evenings. I also have awesome neighbors. The only thing I would change is the resident parking garage exit, which is tight quarters. Other than that….. I have no complaints.

“Disappointing ”

I am very disappointed with Skyhouse Main. I decided to break the lease because:

1. there are bugs everywhere and the management is not effective addressing the problem in a proactive and preventive way. Their solution is to pollute the apartments with chemicals that are not communicated to the residents

2. There is no flexibility to move. My family is growing and i need a bigger apartment. They decided to not let me change to a bigger unit without basically resetting the lease and the reason they gave me is that "last time it they allowed somebody to do it it was too much work for them". I also work in an industry that requires moving a lot and they don't have a clause to allow you to break the lease earlier if needed (many apartments in Houston allow that)

3. They are so many other nicer options. Houston has a lot of new buildings and there is no reason to live in a place where the experience is not great

I am disappointed because the staff and concierges are very nice people. I guess this is a good example of how nice is not equal competence.

“Negative experience ”

If you are considering living in Skyhouse Main, please go somewhere else and find a better place where you belong. I lived in Skyhouse for over 6 months and about to break the lease as the experience is extremely disappointing. There is nothing called luxury in the building. First, the apartment was brand new when we moved in and in a less than a month the vent in the bathroom broke and never got fixed after several requests. Second, if you ever cook in your kitchen the whole apartment will smell like food. I lived in many apartments and never had to encounter such an issue before. Ventilation is simply just for decoration. Third, the apartment was infested by cockroaches after few months of living in the building and the issue is still not resolved. Fourth, if you ever wonder if you can hear your neighbors around, the answer is yes. Fifth, some of the residents Airbnb in the building and make a lot of noise, police was called several times. Sixth, I am not sure why there is a concierge in the building, but when you need something, often times he/she is not there. I was told I can’t leave keys downstairs for my family member who lives with me as concierge doesn’t want to take a responsibility. Why do you need a concierge then in a first place? Seventh, the amenities are new but don’t seem working properly. The advertised heated swimming pool was not working few times we wanted to use it. Eighth, the side door of the building from Main street has not been working. There a lot of homeless people around and the last thing you want being locked out. It was communicated to managements on multiple occasions and nothing seems to change. Ninth, I don’t know what kind of chemical smell they put throughout the building but it’s concerning. It smells cheap and is concern to my health. There is also oftentimes trash laying around in the hallways. Management should make huge improvements to deliver what is being advertised as a luxury living.

“Downtown living Houston ”

On metro rail, near great restaurants, night life, 24hr front desk, roof top pool and fire pit. My pup is 60lb so they accept large dog. Nice dog park and dog wash station.

Hermann Park
Great part of town - fairly new, moderately priced apartments which are close to 288 (easy to get into town) and next to Hermann Park (great for a walk/run). I lived here for a year and highly recommend the area.
It looks like you breezed through your apartment search. Better take another swing at the apartment finder plate and look again.
Good news: if you need to look for an apartment in a completely different area, we can still help find apartments for rent wherever you're looking nationwide!
